New dehydration line strengthens AFR’s tropical fruit industry

In a significant step forward for AFR, a complete tropical fruit dehydration line and ancillary equipment were recently installed at the company’s processing facility. The modern processing line is now fully operational and is being used to dehydrate fruits such as mango, litchi, pineapple, and banana into high-quality dried products.

The dehydration line was supplied and installed under the Mais Valor project (UNIDO 170217), an initiative funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADER).

This investment will enable the processing of tropical fruits grown in Manica province and surrounding areas, creating new market opportunities for AFR and the small-scale producers who supply the company with raw materials.

Training in Good Manufacturing Practices Raises Standards at AFR’s Processing Facility

AFR’s processing facility has taken a significant step toward excellence in food production with the recent training of its technicians in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for the food industry.

AFR technicians were trained on good manufacturing practices to ensure that every mango, litchi, pineapple, and banana processed at the facility meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Moreover, this training marks a strategic milestone in preparing the facility for HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certification. This will not only enhance the facility’s reputation but also reinforce its commitment to production practices that ensure consumer trust and product integrity.
